Turkey’s Indigenous Air Defense System Hisar-A Passed Tests

President of Turkish Defense Industries Ismail Demir released a tweet on 12th October that indigenous made Hisar-A low altitude Anti Air Defence system built by ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and ASELSAN companies completed tests by destroying air targets successfully. He also mentioned that mass production is about to start.

Hisar-A neutralizes air threats at low altitude in order to provide air defense for units on the move. Hisar missiles have a high detonation warhead, impact and approach plug, which makes it effective against different types of air targets (aircrafts, UAVs, helicopters, cruise missiles, air-to-ground-missiles). Hisar-A, which works to protect low-altitude air threats, also includes Hisar-O, which takes the task of eliminating threats at mid-altitude.

Hisar-A is planned to be delivered to Turkish Armed Forces at 2021, Hisar-O is planned to be delivered by 2022. After the delivery, development of the naval version of the air system is within the bounds of possibility.
